PTC Arena
PTC Arena is a cloud-native PLM and QMS product targeted at high-tech electronics and medical-device manufacturers. PTC acquired Arena Solutions in 2021 (~$715M) and operates the product on the Arena brand, distinct from Windchill — the typical Arena buyer is a smaller, faster-moving electronics or medical-device company that wants SaaS PLM with strong AVL/AML, change, and quality workflows out of the box.
Context
Arena was founded in 2000 and was one of the first true SaaS PLM products. Inside PTC it is positioned alongside Windchill as the cloud-first SKU — Windchill targets larger enterprises with deep CAD integration and configurable customization, while Arena targets faster ramp times with templated processes and embedded supplier collaboration.

- Classification Schema — categorized parts and reuse search.
- Workflow Engine for change, quality, and supplier workflows.
