Flattened BOM

Flattened BOM (also called the summarized or roll-up BOM) collapses every level of a multilevel structure into one consolidated list of leaf-level parts with summed quantities. It hides the hierarchy and reports the total quantity of each unique part required to build the parent product.

What it covers

  • Roll-up of quantities across all levels of the indented BOM.
  • Procurement and cost views — what to buy and how much, ignoring assembly structure.
  • Rare-earth, conflict-mineral, and substance-of-concern reports — easier to audit when flattened.
  • Kit pulls and material planning for build-to-stock products.
  • Counterpart to multilevel and single-level views.
