Siemens Opcenter is the manufacturing operations management (MOM) / MES product family at Siemens, unifying the former Camstar (electronics, medical devices), Simatic IT (regulated industries), Preactor (planning), and Quality Management products under one brand. It implements ISA-95 manufacturing operations alongside Teamcenter on the engineering side.
Context
Opcenter ships in industry-tuned editions: Opcenter Execution Discrete, Opcenter Execution Electronics, Opcenter Execution Medical Device & Diagnostics, Opcenter Execution Pharma, and Opcenter Execution Process. The shared kernel descends from the Camstar acquisition (2014), with electronics-grade traceability inherited from semiconductor and medical-device customers.
What it implements
- Process Simulation and MES — the execution side, including device history records, electronic batch records, and as-built capture.
- ERP-PDM Integration via published MBOMs and routings from Teamcenter and ERP item masters.
