Siemens Brownfield Connect

Siemens Brownfield Connect is a connectivity product targeting older plants where ripping and replacing PLC fleets is impractical. It bridges legacy controllers, drives, and sensors over a wide protocol portfolio (Modbus, Profinet, S7, MQTT, OPC UA) into Insights Hub and the Industrial Edge runtime, so operations can capture telemetry and orchestrate digital-twin scenarios without first modernizing the OT layer.

Context

Brownfield Connect is positioned as the on-premises / edge complement to Insights Hub for IIoT scenarios: an inventory of brownfield equipment is the rule rather than the exception in mature plants, and the product is part of Siemens’ answer to Kepware-style connectivity in the Xcelerator portfolio.
