PTC Servigistics
PTC Servigistics is a service-parts-management (SPM) suite for multi-echelon spare-parts planning, forecasting, pricing, and supplier collaboration across an installed base. PTC acquired it in 2012 (~$220M) and operates it as the parts-side counterpart to ServiceMax in the connected-service portfolio.
Context
Servigistics is built around stochastic optimization for intermittent demand and multi-echelon networks — the canonical hard problem of service-parts planning, very different from production MRP. It is commonly deployed at OEMs running large heterogeneous installed bases (aircraft fleets, mining equipment, medical-imaging fleets, semiconductor fabs).
What it implements
- Service Parts Management — the flagship product in this category.
- Part Lifecycle Information — last-time-buy, supersession chains, AML status.
Relationships (see sidebar)
- Competes with SAP SPP, Oracle Service Parts Planning, Syncron, and Baxter Planning.
- Complementary inside PTC’s stack to ServiceMax (execution) and Windchill (engineering parts master).
Vendor
PTC, Inc. (acquired Servigistics from MCA Solutions / Click Commerce, 2012).
