Centric PLM
Centric PLM (also branded Centric 8 PLM and the cloud-native Centric C8) is the leading PLM product for fashion, footwear, accessories, beauty, and food/beverage CPG. The product is operated by Centric Software, a separate brand in which Dassault Systèmes acquired a controlling interest in 2018 — Centric is therefore reported as part of Dassault’s broader PLM portfolio while continuing to ship under its own brand and on its own roadmap.
Context
Centric Software was founded in 2002 around a soft-goods PLM data model and grew through OEM relationships and product extensions (Centric Visual Boards, Centric Pricing & Inventory, Centric Planning). Its installed base spans most major fashion and CPG retailers; the Dassault relationship channels Centric into multi-brand industry deals while preserving the Centric product roadmap.
What it implements
- Fashion / Retail PDM — line plans, tech packs, materials, color, and tech-pack workflows.
- Product Data Management in a soft-goods bias.
- Classification Schema — material and component taxonomies.
- Workflow Engine — calendar-driven seasonal workflows.
Relationships (see sidebar)
- Competes with Dassault 3DEXPERIENCE for fashion (CATIA-based fashion roles) — note the ownership overlap means the products coexist commercially.
Vendor
Centric Software (controlled by Dassault Systèmes since 2018).
