Fashion / Retail PDM
Fashion / Retail PDM is the logical capability of managing the seasonal, style-driven, soft-goods product record across the fashion, footwear, accessories, beauty, and consumer-packaged-goods supply chains. It diverges meaningfully from discrete-manufacturing PLM: the artifact graph is built around assortments, materials/colorways, tech packs, and supplier costing rather than CAD assemblies and ECOs.
What it covers
- Line planning and assortments — collections, ranges, drops, and merchandising plans.
- Tech packs — sketches, BOMs, points of measure, construction, and grading rules.
- Materials, trims, and colorways with sourcing alternatives and certifications.
- Supplier RFQ and costing — landed cost, target margin, and approval workflows.
- Sustainability and compliance — chemical-of-concern, traceability, certification chains.
Relationships (see sidebar)
- Supports the Product Portfolio Planning, Detailed Design, and Supplier Development processes.
- Implemented by systems like Centric PLM and the fashion-vertical roles on the 3DEXPERIENCE platform.
- Variant of the broader Product Data Management capability with a soft-goods bias.
